A Super Start for Our Student Council

26th Nov 2025

Our Student Council had a truly memorable week recently. It began with the girls receiving their new Student Council badges from Sr Maria. They shared their wonderful ideas for the year ahead, and Sr Maria spoke about leadership, kindness and representing their classmates. It was a lovely moment that set the tone for an exciting year ahead.

The next day, the girls travelled to Leinster House for a special visit to the Dáil. They had the chance to explore the historic chambers, learn how decisions are made and see first-hand how our democracy works. Their visit happened at an especially meaningful moment, just days before Catherine Connolly was due to be sworn in as President after many years of dedicated service in the Dáil.

It was also great for the girls to experience a space that is usually filled with adults, and often men, and to see that their voices, ideas and confidence belong there too. The visit reminded them that leadership comes in many forms and that even small ideas can make a big difference in our school community and beyond.

We are incredibly proud of our Student Council. Their enthusiasm, creativity and commitment shine through every day, and we look forward to seeing their fantastic ideas come to life throughout the year.
